Bands, Barns and BBQ

Enjoy an afternoon of live music and great food at the Honkytonk Saloon! Proceeds from the event will contribute to the new barn for the horses of H.O.P.E. Acres Rescue. Various local bands, including The Bryan Roberts Band and Shane Roberts, will play from 12pm - 7pm. Ticket includes one plate of BBQ and sides. There are only 150 plates of BBQ so purchase early and don't miss out!

What is H.O.P.E. Acres Rescue?

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Berkeley County, SC that rescues, rehabilitates, and provides sanctuary for neglected and abused horses from across the state. Since 2010 we have rescued almost 90 equines. We believe that all horses deserve peaceful lives free from fear and neglect. By participating in our events, you help us feed and provide life-saving veterinary treatments to horses that are sick, starving, and in need of a good home.

A Home for H.O.P.E.

After a total of 3 moves in 11 years, H.O.P.E. Acres Rescue finally has a secure, long-term home. It has been a long journey. The rescue has always leased property for its facility with the knowledge that those situations were interim solutions. In 2019 we were told that our landlord from whom we had been leasing about 30 acres for the past 5 years would be putting the property up for sale. H.O.P.E. would have to move yet again.

While the board evaluated its options, one board member was able to secure nearly 40 acres in Bonneau. Now the rescue has a safe, stable situation supported by landowners with a vested interest in its longevity and success. Freed from the constant looming threat of eviction, H.O.P.E. Acres can focus entirely on its work of helping neglected and abused equines in our community.

The Barn

H.O.P.E. may have a new home, but it is currently without a barn. To continue its work, the rescue must have a proper barn to shelter sick and injured horses and to store equipment, feed and supplies.

The rescue has a singular opportunity to ensure that it has a facility that will fulfill both its current and future needs. The new barn will have the capacity to serve the rescue as it grows, providing plenty of stall space, a birthing stall, storage, an enclosed tack room, the rescue's first ever office space, and a covered area to shield volunteers from the weather and allow for vet and farrier consultations in dry conditions.

This barn is being made a reality through the gifts of compassionate donors made over many years and the hundreds of fundraising hours put in by our dedicated volunteers at numerous events every year. We hope that you will join us in building this bright new future for H.O.P.E. Acres and the homeless, neglected horses it serves.
