Generous supporter Susan Selvey will once again match donations up to $5,000 for H.O.P.E. Acres Rescue's emergency medical fund. With Susan's dollar-for-dollar matching donation, we have the potential to raise a total of $10,000!

Susan is a well-known local artist specializing in landscapes and animal portraiture. She is also an FEI-level competitor and trainer who has worked in the equestrian world for over 30 years. Her deep love of horses during her long career in competitive dressage and the special bond she shared with her horse Bargain inspired her to give to H.O.P.E. Acres. Thanks to Susan's $5000 matching gift, every dollar you give will go twice as far!

All funds donated to this campaign will be dedicated solely to emergency medical expenses. We created our emergency medical fund in honor of one of our former rescues, Honey. The infected barbed wire wound in her leg that almost cost her her life would require multiple procedures and nearly a year for her to recover. When horses like Honey come to the rescue needing major surgery or extensive rehabilitation, we hope to always have the resources to answer their calls for help.

Your gift will benefit future horses like Honey, or Lady, who had an eye removed last year to relieve the pain of her advanced glaucoma, or Kami, an elderly mare with several bad teeth that had to come out, or Stormy, who has undergone multiple treatments for EPM, a neurological disease that drastically impaired her ability to walk. These funds will also help us handle any of the unexpected crises that can arise when caring for aging horses. Most of the rescue's current herd are well into their 20s with chronic health conditions, like Ivy, our oldest resident at 28, who has cancer and may need urgent care sometime in the near future.

Thank you for your support! We could not do our work without you. Your generosity gives the horses of H.O.P.E. every opportunity to have healthy and happy lives.
